Siera was baptized at FBCTLH on Sunday, October 27
I was raised in a Christian home where, by the time I was in middle school, I accepted the Lord as my Savior and proclaimed that through baptism at my home church. Even though I went to church every Sunday morning with my family, I never felt connected at my home church and therefore never fully walked with Christ.
My senior year of high school, my family lost everything we had ever known through a house fire one night. In that moment, my life changed forever and I had to believe God had a plan for my family. I had always planned to attend Appalachian State University, however I learned quickly that God had a different plan for me.
God brought me to Tallahassee to the city that would change my life. On the first day of school, I met Samuel Mason, who immediately asked me if I had found a church home and then invited me to First Baptist. Through the next two years I began to rebuild my relationship with Christ through the college ministry here at FBC, the mentoring of my family as well as the Mason family, and through the men’s basketball league with Edem Ablordeppey and Emily Greene.
It is through this church, the people I have met, and my family that I realized God had a plan for me all along and I just needed to trust Him, and still need to, as I continue my walk with Christ. That is why I became a member at First Baptist through a rededication of my love for Christ through baptism.
