Pentecost

Pentecost is this Sunday, June 8. Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the birth of the church through the gift of the Holy Spirit. This Sunday in worship, we have a special treat. Marty Smith, Penny Folsom, and George Feijoo have arranged a special edition of “God is so Good,” to be sung in many of the languages you normally hear in the halls each Sunday at First Baptist. United as one, these musicians from around the world will sing the words from their heart language with a melody all of us know and enjoy. You won’t want to miss it!

On the platform, you’ll see the backdrop for “Weird Animals,” our theme for Vacation Bible School. If Pentecost wasn’t noisy enough, imagine our halls filled with the laughter and love of children of all ages next week. Our kids will be singing at 11:15 to teach us some of their music as “All Creatures of Our God and King” comes alive.

At 6:00 p.m., our Youth Choir sings their home concert. After a week of sharing and serving in East Tennessee, they return to teach us how to show Christ’s love in action, truth, and music.

Join us for the winds of the Spirit in a wonderful, inspiring day. We share this together for one purpose: to glorify the Lord and celebrate the Spirit’s presence in our midst.
