Children

FBCTLH believes that God has created each child with unique gifts and Kingdom purpose. Our Children’s Ministry team uses engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and activities for our nursery through fifth-grade classes with the goal of introducing kids to Christ and helping them grow in their relationship with Him. We want to educate, equip, and empower each child at FBCTLH to live out their God-given purpose in their homes, community, and beyond.

FBCTLH also understands the importance of the parent’s role in a child’s discipleship and faith journey. Because discipling a child is commanded by God as a responsibility of the parent, we work to partner with parents and support them in this effort. This is a beautiful picture of a biblical partnership.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday Mornings

FBCTLH makes it a priority for every child, from birth through 5th grade, to experience the love of God through His Scripture. We use The Gospel Project curriculum, which is a three-year teaching cycle from Genesis through Revelation. Using age-appropriate lessons and activities, our team helps kids of all ages connect every part of God’s word to His Son, Jesus, through weekly “Christ Connections.” Each child takes home a family devotion card so that families can continue the conversation and discipleship throughout the week. A weekly email is also sent out on Sunday mornings for families to see an overview of our Sunday lesson.

Wednesday Nights

We firmly believe that discipleship can and should be fun. Our Wednesday nights are full of fun, fellowship, and opportunities for kids to engage and serve in the life of the local church and community. Our focus on Wednesday nights is missions. Children learn about local and global missions as well as missionaries who are faithfully serving our Lord around the world. Children are also empowered on a regular basis to actively get involved in mission projects or opportunities. Our prayer is that all our children will develop a heart for missions and will learn to live on mission daily and consider global opportunities as they grow.

Safety

The safety and security of each child in our care is a top priority at FBCTLH. Each adult volunteer in our ministry has been called by God to serve in this way. Not only have they been called, but they have been trained, equipped, and background checked to ensure that they can best serve your child. Our children’s ministry areas are also designed with safety in mind, including security doors, a check-in system, and medical or allergy alerts posted in each room.

Check-In Process

FBCTLH uses a digital check-in process called Shelby. This system prints a child name tag and matching guardian receipt. Your child’s name tag is customized to fit your child’s needs. It alerts the teachers if there are allergies, special notes, or a birthday, and includes parent contact information so we can reach you if a need arises. Guardians must present the guardian receipt at pick-up for the safety of all children.

Planning Your Visit

FBCTLH looks forward to serving you and your child on any Sunday or Wednesday that you choose to attend. If you are planning your first visit, please consider pre-registering your child here. This allows us to prepare your child’s check-in tags and collect your contact information without your feeling rushed during your visit. If you have questions about where to go or what your first visit might look like for your child, feel free to contact Jenny Whitaker.
