Penny Folsom

Penny has worked in some form of church music ministry for over thirty years! As Minister of Music here, she oversees all aspects of music ministry, supervises salaried and volunteer music staff, plans and coordinates our Traditional Worship service as well as various special services as needed, AND directs our Sanctuary Choir, First Joy Senior Adult Choir, and Bells of Praise.

Penny grew up as a believer in a Christian family and was a member of the United Methodist Church until joining First Baptist Church and being baptized by immersion at the age of 31. She met Christ and began a personal relationship with Him at age 12. She graduated from Leon High School and has a degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University

Penny loves spending time with her family (husband Byron, son Matthew, daughter-in-law Jessica, grandson William, and daughter Sarah), and photography, bicycling, writing, and Facebooking.
