OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

It’s time to start preparing for Operation Christmas Child. Even during this COVID era, Samaritan’s Purse is committed to following the Lord’s leading and carrying on with National Collection Week November 16-23.

FBCTLH will be a drop off location in Tallahassee for the second year in a row. If you would like to help during collection week, please contact Kristin Shultz.

As of right now, the rules for packing boxes have not changed. Please try and make sure items are as clean as possible and remember no liquids, food, candy, or toothpaste can be packed into boxes. Empty boxes will be ready for pickup in the Welcome Center on October 4.

Options to participate in Operation Christmas Child
We are offering multiple opportunities to participate in OCC this year.
Fill your own shoebox
For those who are looking for an excuse to get out and shop, here is your chance! Fill your shoebox with age appropriate items. You can check out the Samaritan’s Purse website to find numerous suggestions for what to include and what not to include in your box.
Purchase a pre-packaged shoebox
Understandably, there are some who do not feel comfortable shopping or attending church and are wondering how they can support this important gospel ministry. Every year for the last thirteen years, our hand bell choir, Bells of Praise, has prepared shoe boxes as a fundraiser. Most years, they limit their total to about 60 boxes. This year, due to the pandemic, they are planning on preparing more boxes than ever! The cost will be $40 per box which will include all the contents as well as the cost for shipping the boxes overseas. All proceeds from the sale of these boxes will support the beautiful ministry of Bells of Praise.
If you would like to purchase a pre-packaged shoebox, please contact Shane Monroe or you can purchase your box here on the GIVE page. On the page under My Donation, you can choose fund. Choose ‘designated,’ and then under Sub Fund choose Handbell Choir – OCC Fundraiser. In order to have all of the supplies for this option, we have a deadline of Sunday, November 15th.

Family Ministry shoebox packing party
All children, youth, and their parents are invited to our annual Thanks + Giving Dinner on Wednesday, November 18 at 6:00PM in the fellowship hall. We will provide dinner, and you bring a dessert to share, an empty shoebox, and gifts items for your box. There is no cost for the dinner, but you’re encouraged to bring a $9 donation to help cover the cost of shipping your shoebox. After dinner, we will pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Please RSVP online so we can have enough turkey for all.

No matter how you are able to participate this year, we want to thank you for being a part of this important ministry and sharing the gospel to the ends of the earth.
