Scripture Reference: John 6:4-15
When the disciples don’t know where to buy food for a gathering crowd, Jesus seats them and feeds them. He takes bread that a boy has brought, gives thanks, and distributes it. It’s like Jesus’ personal banquet. Like Israelites in the wilderness, these people are fed Jesus’ manna. Like the heavenly banquet one day, Jesus feeds them personally. He is the bread of life, and he’s all we need. The disciples pick up all the leftovers testifying to his abundant blessings even in the scraps. Jesus feeds us today, and we give thanks by receiving this gift. We testify publicly of his blessings to us by giving a thanksgiving offering out of the “leftover” blessings of the year.
