Dental Mission

Dental Mission

Screening Day: May 5, 2025 (Required for everyone seeking dental care)
Appointment Week: May 12-17, 2025

FBCTLH will conduct a Mobile Dental Mission in May 2025. Through this project, our congregation can share God’s love in practical ways. The mission will meet urgent health needs of people who don’t have dental insurance and can’t afford care. Local dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists are volunteering to provide free basic dental care aboard the Florida Baptist Convention’s Mobile Dental Unit. The Dental Mission will be publicized through Tallahassee’s many agencies, transitional housing, shelters, and food pantries that serve our neighbors in need.

Anyone wishing to see a dentist or hygienist is invited to come to FBCTLH on Screening Day, May 5, from 9 AM-3 PM. Brief income and medical questionnaires will be used to qualify each guest for free basic dental care. Dentist or hygienist appointments will be made for the following week – Monday through Saturday, May 12-17. Anyone wanting a dentist or cleaning appointment must attend Screening Day and receive an appointment card. All guests participating in Screening Day or a dental appointment will receive a free dental hygiene kit and a bag of food, courtesy of Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Both Screening Day, May 5, and Appointment Week, May 12-17, will take place at First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, 108 W. College Ave. On Screening Day please use the Duval St. entrance. During Appointment Week, the Mobile Dental Unit (the bus) will be parked on the Adams St. side of the FBCTLH campus.
