DON’T FORGET VBS!

These are exciting times for First Baptist Church. We’ve seen college students and high school seniors graduate in the past few weeks and enter a new chapter of life. We’re looking ahead to several great ministry opportunities at the very beginning of June, such as A Full Summer and the youth choir mission trip. And, of course, after 27 months of an interim, our church will have the opportunity to meet and hear a message from our prospective pastor this Sunday. We have much to be thankful for and excited about.

But with all of the excitement, I want to make sure that we don’t forget another very important ministry in the life of our church: Vacation Bible School. As of this weekend, we’re just two weeks away from the beginning of VBS and our afternoon camps. Two weeks!

We’re so blessed that Theresa Lambert and Amy Meyer have stepped up to lead VBS this year. But it takes a whole church working together to do VBS. We have folks serve with drop off, check in, and pick up. We have folks serve as station leaders and crew leaders. We have folks prepare snacks — for the kids and the volunteers. Oh yeah, and music and games, and so on.

All that to say: we need you! If you’ve already signed up as a volunteer, thank you. If you haven’t, but you’re willing and able to help in any way before, during, or after VBS, please contact Christin Wright.

Year after year, I’m blown away by what the Lord does during VBS at First Baptist Church. I hope you’ll get to be a part of that this year, too.

Thanks,
Josh Hall
