HANDS OF JESUS

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” – Matthew 25:35

During our Open Air Christmas Concert, FBCTLH and the Florida Baptist Children’s Home partnering with FarmShare were blessed to give away 600 units of food to families in need! A unit of food consisted of milk, eggs, boneless chicken breasts, yogurt, cereal bars, fresh vegetables, water, green tea, and a gospel tract offering the joy and hope of Christmas. According to Tamara Smith, the Regional Director of the Panhandle of the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, this was the largest food distribution they have had all year!

I would like to share just one story from the plethora of stories throughout the day. A husband and wife pulled into our food line driving a Mercedes Benz. We were not asking questions and simply serving anyone who stopped. The man driving stated that he had seen the sign and stopped because as the principal of a school, he knew of three families that had an immediate need. He was hoping to get food for them and then take it over to their homes immediately.

This could not have happened without the amazing efforts of everyone who volunteered and stepped in to help with this ministry opportunity.

In addition to giving away food, FBCTLH also restocked the pantry at the Children’s Home on Buck Lake Road. By the end of the evening, their volunteers told me that it was the largest food drive they have had this year and that their pantry was in the best shape it has been since the beginning of the pandemic. If you would like to still donate to the food pantry at the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, you can take your donations directly there (8415 Buck Lake Road) or you can bring them here to the church and we will make sure they are delivered to the Children’s Home.

I cannot thank you enough for being a part of both of these ministry opportunities. We can rest in knowing that the Lord blessed our obedience as we were able to meet physical and spiritual needs. Thank you again and God bless.
