COVID-19 MINISTRY UPDATES

Pastor Gary

We continue to have ministry opportunities and ways to impact our community because of the coronavirus. In addition to the opportunities at Florida Baptist Children’s Home, Second Harvest of the Big Bend, and the Kearney Center that we communicated last week, there is now an opportunity for those in our congregation who can sew to make surgical masks.

MAKE MASKS

One of our members, Tracy Edewaard, through her company Servicemaster by Bone Dry, is looking for anyone who can sew. They have the material for CDC-approved face masks. What they do not have are men and women who can sew. While there is not a shortage of face masks yet in Tallahassee, this will help us be prepared in the event that there is.

If you would like to be a part of this ministry opportunity, please contact Joy Stein at joy@fbctlh.org (850.222.5470 (x131)) to sign up. Joy will then pass your information on to Tracy who is taking the lead on this project.

Tracy will forward you the specifications on how to make these face masks and let you know how to get the materials. You will only need to supply a needle and thread and your expertise in your own home to be able to serve the community.

ONLINE WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

We will continue sharing a short prayer video each morning, on social media and through YouTube and the website. In addition, I will be recording and sharing our Wednesday Night Bible Study (it will be available on Wednesday) and we will be posting it in all the same places (as well as through our podcast which you can subscribe to in any podcast service).

For this Sunday, in addition to our worship service, we are working with SMBS classes to facilitate virtual classes. We will also make sure to have at least one SMBS course live stream on Sunday morning after the worship service for the benefit of those classes or members that might not be able to meet virtually. Additionally, we will be sending out recorded lessons for our children, youth, and college ministries, as well as some instructions on how to incorporate those into family worship.

Please know that we are continuing to worship, serve, and be on mission right now, even if the form of those things looks a little different during this season. As always, if there is anything we can pray with you about or any way we can minister to you right now, please let us know.
