It’s time for Backpack-a-Palooza – an important effort to equip at-risk students with supplies for this next school year. Consider adopting a student who is residing at HOPE Community, Tallahassee’s temporary housing for homeless families transitioning to stable housing.
Once again, we are giving you the option to do the shopping, or we can do the shopping for you! You will be able to pick up a name in the Welcome Center on July 21 or 28 and return a completed backpack on August 4, OR we are asking for a donation of $35 per student. This way, each student will receive a backpack filled with supplies such as spiral notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, a pencil sharpener, glue sticks, crayons, a ruler, scissors, colored pencils, filler paper, markers, etc. Those purchasing backpacks will be sent the name and age of the child receiving the supplies.
We encourage you to pray for your student throughout the 2024-2025 school year. Last year, First Baptist supplied about 75 backpacks, giving students a great start to the school year.
The deadline is August 4. If you are making a donation, please see the form below.
We will have a packing party to fill backpacks on Thursday, Aug. 8, 10 AM-12 PM in the Chason conference room. If you are able, come lend a hand as we fill backpacks with school supplies.
