A WEEKEND TO CONNECT

Suzette Mason

On Sunday, we called Suzette Mason as our new Minister of Children. I’m so excited that Suzette is joining our staff. She begins her journey with us in March. Pray for Suzette as she moves from Raleigh, North Carolina; and welcome her when she arrives.

This week is a powerful time in the life of First Baptist. We will focus on two important aspects of the strategic plan: strong homes and impacted city.

Dr. Chap Clark

Chap Clark and a host of workshop leaders and staff will lead Connections Weekend 2016. Beginning Friday night, we’ll learn how to do “preventive maintenance” with the people we love the most. We’ll explore how to use our homes as mission outposts in our community. We’ll engage scripture at a deeper level. And of course, we’ll eat a lot of food and meet new people.

Then, on Sunday, we’ll impact our city as we worship together with 1,000 marathon runners and fans near the doorstep of our church. As you know, Jordan Mallory and our Pastoral Staff have designed a great plan for building accessibility. We’ll have regular services and Bible study. Parking is available at the Calhoun and College Avenue Parking deck, and shuttles will run all morning from there. Wear your First Baptist t-shirt, greet runners, hand out a water bottle, and welcome these guests in Jesus’ name.
