ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRIES

I am excited to announce that on August 22 we will have a special called business meeting at the end of both of our services to vote on calling an Associate Pastor of Music Ministries. During this meeting, we will hear from our candidate, both his testimony and his call to this position, and then we will vote on calling him to FBCTLH. He will lead both services that morning as well.

After numerous interviews and meetings with me, Penny, the rest of the pastoral staff, our music staff, our deacons, and our various music ministries, I am pleased to recommend Greg Williams for this position. Greg has previously served at churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Most recently he served Associate Pastor of Worship and Administration at Crabapple First Baptist Church in Milton, Ga.

Greg has been married to his wife, Susan, since 1997, and they have two daughters, Elaine and Katherine, who both attend Samford University. He was ordained into ministry right here at First Baptist Tallahassee in 1994, and he is a graduate of Florida State University (B.A. in Music, 1994) and Beeson Divinity School (Master of Divinity, 2003). In addition to his local church experience, Greg has also served in several denominational music ministries, community music events, and as an adjunct professor of music.

Before our services and special called business meetings on August 22, there will be an opportunity for anyone in our church to meet and greet Greg and Susan, as well as an informal time to talk and ask questions. This will be from 10 AM-12 PM on August 21 in the Fellowship Hall.

I hope you will be able to come out that weekend both to meet Greg and Susan and to participate in our meeting to call them to our church. I also hope you will be praying for them and for our church as we seek God’s will and look forward to the great things he is going to do as we follow Jesus together.

God bless,
